Public involvement in our work

The participation ladder below is based on one created by mental health activist and survivor Indigo Daya. In May 2022 we asked the people involved in our work where our way of working fits on the ladder, to provide a snapshot of how we’re currently working together and to help us think about how to do things in the future

Helping to shape the content and wording of new IRAS questions about public involvement in research. Providing feedback on guidance for researchers about how to communicate study findings to research participants.
Being part of the community insight group to inform how HRA supports and values members. Advising on website design
Taking part in workshops to prioritise ways to improve the information created for people considering taking part in research. Providing feedback via a survey about being part of the HRA’s Public Involvement Network
Being part of the Make it Public research transparency campaign group.
