We are only a few weeks away from 10 December - an important milestone in introducing our new digital service, Plan and Manage Health and Care Research. For the first time, invited users will access the live service and start to use it to make changes to selected study types.
We are working closely with 10 invited sponsor organisations who are our early adopters for this first phase:

- Cardiff University
- Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
- Imperial College London / Imperial NHS Trust (Joint Research Office)
- Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- University of Birmingham
- University of Bristol
- University of Leeds
- University of Manchester
- University of Southampton
We have asked these sponsors to partner with us based on the types and volumes of studies they are responsible for. Their involvement and feedback on the service will be essential to help us understand what’s working and what needs to improve.
What does this mean for you?
For most users, nothing will change on 10 December. This is because we are taking a gradual approach to open the service to more users. A further 10 sponsors will be invited to start using the service in January and then we will continue to add more users and more study types to the service.
For now, you should continue to use existing systems. If one of your sponsors is listed above, please still continue as normal unless you receive notification from them that you should do something different. Please keep up-to-date with our progress through this newsletter and encourage your colleagues to sign up for our newsletter.
