Wednesday 10 December 2025 marked a significant milestone in our work to build better research services. We have been working closely with ten invited sponsors as our early adopters for our new digital service, Plan and Manage Health and Care Research, and they are now using it to make changes to their active research.
This is a small but significant step in our development of Plan and Manage Health and Care Research - a single, integrated service that will replace separate, ageing systems and provide the digital platform for every stage of planning, approving, setting up, managing and completing research across the UK.
What happens next?
We’re keeping in close contact with our early adopters as they start to use the service and their feedback will be essential to help us improve and iterate. We’re also working with a second cohort of sponsors to introduce them to the new service.
Over the coming months, we’ll build and release more functionality. This means that we’ll be able to open up the service to more users and more study types. We will share more about this in upcoming issues of this newsletter.
What does it mean for me?
For the majority of people who use our existing services, nothing will change at this stage. This is because we’re working in a phased approach, gradually inviting more users and building more functionality into our new service.
Unless you are asked to be part of the roll-out, please continue to use existing services for now. We have detailed plans in place to support all of our users through the upcoming changes, and we will continue to share our progress with you.
