  • Data collection arrangements

Routinely recorded anonymised data related to pregnancies with laboratory evidence of ZIKV infection will be stored on a secured website database (Registry). The inclusion criteria include pregnancies with laboratory evidence of ZIKV infection (as confirmed following testing at RIPL). The exclusion criteria include pregnancies already known to be complicated by aneuploidy or genetic syndrome.
The data will be made anonymous and patients’ identities remain available only to their local team (healthcare provider).
All staff with access to the data will hold full or honorary contracts of employment with the NHS or PHE and will have completed mandatory Information Governance training.

  • Research programme

This is a UK national initiative endorsed by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). The aims of the Registry include: • To systematically track pregnancies with laboratory evidence of ZIKV infection in order to ascertain pregnancy outcomes. • To establish a platform to facilitate long-term follow-up of these infants at a national level. • To explore risk factors associated with adverse pregnancy outcome in these cases.
