Research summary
This project aims to turn lab made stem cells into blood clotting cells called platelets.
We need to compare our different techniques and in order to prove that we are making cells that look and function like platelets we need blood- derived human platelets to compare to (positive control).
Human platelets cannot be stored as fresh cells hence regular access to fresh blood is required to conduct this project.
Characteristic and functional analysis will be performed on the donated and lab grown platelets side by side to observe the similarities and differences.REC name
