Research summary
The study design is a prospective, self-administered questionnaire of a convenience sample of 200 parents/carers presenting their child to a single district general hospital A&E department over a two-month period. This study will determine awareness, accessibility and utilisation of other locally available healthcare services, proximity to A&E, perceived severity of the child’s condition and duration of illness or problem and whether presentation types vary depending on availability of other health care services.
