Research summary
Wellbeing through Faith: An evaluation of the effectiveness of a faith based therapeutic course aimed at improving the mental, emotional and spiritual health of participants.
Wellbeing Through Faith is a short term, church based intervention, which aims to increase both the general and spiritual wellbeing of participants by combining Psychological theory and activities with bibical content. The group welcomes church attendees and service users from local NHS and 3rd sector services. It is of great importance to demonstrate the effectiveness of the group to ensure that it promotes health, wellbeing and Recovery for service users and is not dentrimental to their mental health. The effectiveness of the group will be evaluated using the Mini-SeRve which is a questionnaire developed to measure Recovery. The Mini-SeRve looks at the existential well-being, mental ill-being and religious wellbeing of the individuals. It will be administered before and after the course to determine if the course has helped or hindered Recovery in these areas.
