  • Research summary

Knee arthroscopy is a common orthopaedic, day-surgery, procedure, generally undertaken to treat meniscal (cartilage) problems. Following arthroscopy the knee is stiff and swollen, affecting function, including work and other activities. Previously all patients were seen by a physiotherapist after arthroscopy however with funding cuts they are now given a leaflet by a nurse. Recent audits suggest patients would like to see the exercises as videos and to be reviewed by a physiotherapist. Physiotherapy delivered remotely through our web based physiotherapy platform may be a more effective and acceptable post-operative care package for people after arthroscopy.
