Data collection arrangements
Subjects will be patients listed for VT ablation using functional mapping techniques. Data collected will be demographic information and routine clinical data (blood test results, ECG data and imaging results). Data collection will be undertaken by clinical personnel (doctors or nurses) at participating centres. Data will be stored in password-protected spreadsheets, but our arrangements are in progress to input information into a data capture system. The database will be held on a Trust server which is backed up regularly with retrieval capabilities. Access to the Trust server is also password protected and access to the database will be with the local study team on the delegation log. All data will be handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.
Research programme
The database will provide an easily accessed system for prospective data collection in a large number of patients so we can evaluate the current technique of functional substrate mapping of Ventricular Tachycardia. In turn, this will support the development of further advanced ablation techniques and improve the current practice. The data collected should facilitate the recruitment of individuals into clinical research trials and will enable the first detailed database of these patient groups in the UK to be undertaken.
