Research summary
A recent study published by Srikanthan and Tran et al. JCO 2014 has demonstrated that the presence of large (>5cm in axial diameter) retroperitoneal lymph node metastases (secondaries in the abdomen) on baseline CT scans are associated with significantly increased risk of venous thromboembolism (clots) in patients receiving first line chemotherapy for disseminated germ cell tumours.
This study, a collaborative effort of an international testis research groups consortium, aims to confirm these findings in a large multi-national, retrospective, validation cohort. The Royal Marsden Hospital is one of the major international collaborators in this project.REC name
