Data collection arrangements
Data to be stored will be deidentified and pseudanonymised data from the VITAL II study. VITAL II was an interventional study of an integrated monitoring system of vital signs supported by Philips Healthcare.
The NHS recommends prompt escalation of care in response to abnormal vital signs. VITAL II examined the effect of automating notification of abnormal vital signs to responders on the care of patients admitted to two wards at the Ysbyty Gwynedd.
Research programme
The data will be used to develop new algorithms for monitoring of vital signs for escalation and de-escalation and planning of transfers of care as well as health economic evaluation of the intervention.
