Research summary
We intend to perform an analysis of the genetic biology of early ER+ breast cancer. We will be looking at genetic abnormalities and seeing how these differ between primary cancers of women who recur very late (beyond ten years from diagnosis) and those who do not recur at all. We aim to discover if there are any differences between the genetic make-up of tumours that recur very late or not at all and to see if there are any associations with long term outcome. It is intended that this early discovery work may be used in conjunction with other evidence in long term management and surveillance of women who are treated for early ER+ breast cancer
