Research summary
This project seeks to explore what quality of life means for people with kidney failure who are undergoing dialysis - specifically haemodialysis. This could be through the means of a Tunnelled central vein catheter catheterised central line (TCVC), or via an arteriovenous fistula (AVF) or an arteriovenous graft (AVG) implanted under the skin. Problems with vascular access is the commonest reason for a dialysis patient to be admitted to hospital and they often require multiple interventions to keep running. We seek to further understand the way that access for dialysis impacts of patients quality of life.
