  • Research summary

We have previously derived a risk score (NULL_PLEASE) based on patient characteristics from a retrospective cohort of 50 patients. This risk score helps to decide which patient would benefit from an invasive angiogram. We need to validate the score in an alternate population and a larger cohort of patients is required. Hence a retrospective record review of patients admitted to the intensive care unit at either Sandwell General Hospital and Birmingham City Hospital between January 2010 and December 2015 following resuscitation from out of hospital cardiac arrest (OOHCA). The data will be analysed to examine baseline patient and arrest characteristics associated with survival to with a view to further (internal) validation of the NULL-PLEASE score.
