Research summary
Craving (a powerful desire for something) plays an important role in the possible mechanisms underlying drug use and relapse. Even after long periods of abstinence, confrontation with substances or substance-associated cues can lead to craving and drug seeking behaviour. This rocess called cue-induced reactivity, includes both conscious and unconscious craving. Although there are established craving questionnaires assessing various components of craving, to our knowledge, no questionnaire exists to assess habitual and automated substance intake. This study, aims to validate the “Craving Automated Scale for substance” (CAS-S), a newly developed questionnaire assessing
