Research summary
Hearing loss is very common in older adults. This leads to further problems such as communication problems. As a result, they can suffer from loneliness and isolation. This can lead to low mood and even cognitive problem. Communication problems that are caused by a hearing loss can also affect cognitive testing.
The main aim of this study is to assess effect of a special version of two tests that are widely used. The tests are used to identify people at risk of cognitive problems in old age. We want to know whether it can do the same thing for hearing loss people. We also want to find out the best test scores that help us do this.
