Research summary
It is theorised that patients who have their ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructed using hybrid synthetics grafts experience less pain and return to exercise quicker than those who receive grafts made of their own tendons. Mr Jain has performed ~100 ACL reconstructions using the JewelACL, a synthetic ligament designed and manufactured by Xiros Ltd. (https://xiros.co.uk/). Patient feedback has been generally positive, although these outcomes have not been formally reviewed. This study will ask these patients to complete a simple questionnaire (Microsoft Forms) concerning their function after having ACL reconstruction with the JewelACL and whether the graft is still intact - to see how it compares to other grafts currently used for ACL reconstruction. Patients will be included regardless of the type of ACL reconstruction they had (primary or revision; multi-ligament). The questionnaire will take roughly 5 - 10 minutes to complete, after which the participant's involvement in the study will end.
