Research summary
This study aims to the look at how a new IT application can be used by GPs and GP practices to help them make decisions about how they care for patients. The application is a new type of audit software for GP practices that is unique in that it suggests bespoke quality improvement action plans for practices to implement. This includes ideas on how to organise a practice in addition to the clinical management of individual patients – however, the software is not intended to over-rule clinical judgment. The purpose of the study is to test the software in the ‘real world’ and get feedback from users on how it could be improved. Currently the software focuses on blood pressure management although this may be extended to other conditions based on user feedback.
