Research summary
Mycophenolate mofetil is one of the immunosuppressive drugs used to maintain good transplanted organ function, with non-adherence leading to poor outcomes including organ rejection. As is the case for other therapies, there is a lack of a global standard method for adherence measurement in patients receiving mycophenolate mofetil.
The principal aim for this study is to assess the adherence to mycophenolate mofetil in children with kidney transplant at Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children using different adherence measurements including: Prescription refill history, prescription issue data, a self report questionnaires and using small volume blood samples. The secondary aim is to determine the factors that influence adherence of children with kidney transplant to mycophenolate mofetil.REC name
