Research summary
ePROs (electronic Patient-Reported Outcomes) are questionnaires sent to patients in order to get information about how they're doing both generally (e.g. quality of life) and more specifically about their condition (e.g. side-effects from medication). ePROs have historically been used for research (e.g. clinical trials) but are increasingly used for everyday clinical care (e.g. for monitoring patients remotely).
This study will investigate how ePROs are being used in the NHS for delivering everyday secondary care. This will be done by observing usage by staff, then carrying out interviews of staff - at various NHS Trusts and in various clinical areas.
The results of this study will help NHS staff understand how ePROs can be used, which will hopefully increase usage of ePROs and therefore improve healthcare delivery.
