Research summary
We are exploring how AI software can assist doctors to make measurements more accurately on echocardiograms. For this we are collecting scans to understand the AI's performance. To ensure the robustness and applicability of the AI we aim to collect data from patients in many different circumstances such as when their heart is going quickly, or when they are unwell.
This study will help develop, refine, and properly test how accurately this can be done, and how sensitive to change these measures are.
We believe that in the future, AI assistance will help patients obtain scans quicker by reducing the need for scarce human-expert reporting.
