Research summary
We want to gain greater understanding of why there is variability in the outcomes in patients with Type 2 Diabetes, by accessing the factors they feel influence their lifestyle and health. This will help multi-disciplinary teams involved in the management of patients with Type 2 Diabetes to consider whether there should be more emphasis on certain aspects of care or whether different strategies should be used to address the interventions currently in place for these patients. By having this appreciation, the lifestyle management for Type 2 Diabetes could develop to improve to benefit the long term health outcomes in such patients.
We are seeking to interview a small number of patients with Type 2 Diabetes who are patients at the Linthorpe Surgery, Middlesborough. Taking part will involve an interview with the researcher, lasting approximately 30 minutes, which will be recorded. Following this, we will give participants an opportunity to clarify any points made in the interview to see if there are anything with which they disagree with or would like to discuss further.
Research will take place during working hours 9am - 5pm in a working environment.
