Research summary
Daily wear planned replacement contact lenses are marketed for either two weeks or one month replacement. This approach ignores the clinical reality that a percentage of wearers experience a loss of comfort, compared with the comfort of a new contact lens, some significant time before the contact lenses are due to be replaced. Because discomfort is the principal cause of discontinuation from contact lens wear it is important to understand the association between significant loss of comfort and on eye lens changes. The purpose of this study is to learn more about the type of symptoms that contact lens wearers experience when they feel it is time to replace their contact lenses and to evaluate any associated clinical signs.
