  • Data collection arrangements

Mortality information is updated quarterly and stored electronically in restricted access files. Using this data and baseline or follow-up questionnaires plus dietary information, datasets will be created which contain relevant variables for this project.

Ideally, an encrypted participant list including date of birth and NHS number will be created and securely transferred to new database so cohort participant records can be extracted from it.

This data will be anonymous, there is no need to refer back to the original cohort databases for identifiable variables.

Event data will be processed, validity assessed and examined in relation to dietary intake in the cohort participants using an encrypted laptop. When not being used, datasets will be stored on a secure drive which is firewall protected and has restricted access (VPN storage).
