Research summary
This a qualitative study which explores the perceptions of type 2 diabetic patients on healthy eating adviced provided by health professionals in Primary Care. Nutritional advice and diet information from primary care is essential for the effective treatment and management of the type 2 diabetes.
The researcher is a registered pharmacist and is conducting this research as part of the MSc in Clinical Pharmacy at De Montfort University.
Patients over 18 years old with type 2 diabetes will be recruited from local primary care practices and community pharmacies using purposive sampling. The method, which will be used to explore the patients’ ideas, will be a focus group. The group discussion will take place in the local Community Centre and the duration of the discussion will be about one hour.REC name
