Research summary
Currently, medical images are assessed visually by radiologists and clinicians. However, medical images contain powerful hidden information than cannot be seen by the naked eye. Extracting this additional information and using it diagnostically and prognostically is a new field of research interest known as Radiomics
Different PET centres acquire PET images at different times post injection of the radiopharmaceutical. Therefore, it is essential to determine which radiomic features vary with time and which don't if comparisons of radiomic data between different sites is to be performed. This study will investigate the stability of a wide range of PET radiomic features at different image acquisition times.
The project will be udertaken at PETIC which is a Cardiff University facility at the University Hospital of Wales managed in partnershp with Cardiff and Vale UHB.
