Research summary
Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is a disorder of the hip characterised by abnormal hip shape that is thought to lead to hip osteoarthritis. This study is a pilot that aims to assess whether treatment for FAI alters the natural history of the disease. This will be achieved by comparing pre and post treatment MRI based markers of hip joint degeneration. As part of this study patients will be invited to have an MRI scan that involves a specific sequence which measures cartilage quality following treatment for their condition.
