Treatment for Depression in Older Adults in crisis: Hospital Admission or Community Treatment. Thoughts and perceptions from service users and their carers/care coordinators/next of kin.
The main aim will be to find out the emotions, feelings, thoughts, and perceptions of older adults suffering from depression and their experience of being treated in the community and/or admitted into hospital.
These perceptions will be also collected from their carers, care coordinators, or next of kin. These perceptions will then be compared.
The objective will be to understand service users’ feelings and their next of kin.
By reflecting on the results, health professionals will have the opportunity to improve their performance by knowing the service users’ perception. The aim of this study is to understand why service users thinks that they should be treated into hospital, when they are being treated in the community, or the other way round, or where they should have been treated, and the perceptions of their carers/care coordinators/next of kin.
