  • Research summary

Evidence suggests that after a coronary event, patients’ beliefs and adherence to cardiac rehabilitation can be affected by their partners’ beliefs and behaviours. This study aims to assess patients and their partners’ beliefs about illness, attendance at CR and patient adherence to medications and lifestyle change. The suitability of the internet as a mode of data collection for this patient group will be assessed. This study will also be used to test the feasibility for a future, larger scale study. It will assess the effectiveness of the data collection tools and suitability of the data collection processes for patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS) and their partners.
