Research summary
Paediatric high grade glioma (pHGG) and diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) are high grade glial tumours of children with a median survival of 9-15 months, a figure that has remained unmoved for decades. My lab at the ICR has had two successive approved studies to study the biology of pHGG/DIPG, and contributed significantly to a radical reconsideration of these tumours. We now wish to extend this work to include (a) a wider age range, (b) additional brain tumour entities, (c) advanced sample collection, (d) non-anonymised specimens and (e) sharing of models with commercial enterprises.
