  • Research summary

We intend to interview young adults with complex medical needs and their carers about their experiences of transitioning from paediatric to adult care. Particulary children who have limited life expectancy and complicated health needs with lots of doctors.
More children are surviving into adulthood with very complex medical needs. Services are set up differently in paediatric and adult care. We want to understand what goes well and what doesn't go wrong so that this can inform future research and services to make the experience better for future children.
