Research summary
IBD is a chronic inflammatory disorder, with a significant unmet need in terms of treatment. In order to better understand the disease, and develop new therapies for treatment, researchers require access to tissue from patients with IBD, as well as healthy control tissue. This is therefore a collaborative tissue acquisition study to acquire bowel tissue by endoscopy/biopsy and peripheral blood, primarily for identification and evaluation of novel molecular targets and biomarkers involved in IBD.
