Research summary
The study is aiming to draw a map of the superficial blood vessels in the breast, using thermal imaging to locate the most useful vessels. There is a good amount of studies and literature describing the clinical relevance of the superficial blood supply to the breast but the pattern of the supply is still debated. Being able to predict where the best vessels are in the breast would help to influence decision making regarding breast reconstruction techniques, options and avoid some complications post mastectomy.\nParticipants must be female patients of the Nottingham Breast Institute who have not had any previous breast procedure or radiotherapy.Thew will be asked to participate during a routine clinic and will also have the thermal images taken at that time. There will be no further visits required.
