Research summary
Currently , laparoscopic cholecystectomy is performed using 4 classic ports localised to the umbilicus, left upper abdomen and the epigastrium.This was associated with port site incisional hernia.The aim of this study is to investigate whether using subcostal port for specimen extraction is resulting in better outcome.The study arms are 100 patients in each group for a period of follow up of 1 year.The patients are assessed in the clinic for any evidence of postoperative incisional port site hernia.
