Research summary
The human immune response is key to enabling us to survive and to maintain health throughout life. Human peripheral blood contains many different immune cells, such as monocytes, lymphocytes and neutrophils. This study aims to profile immune responses from healthy individualsof different ages. Following isolation from blood, the characteristics and response of different immune subtypes to regulators of immunity (e.g. cytokines) or infectious agent, will be determined and compared.
