  • Research summary

Psychometrics in the context of PROM development is the standardised methodology used to quantify and lend objectivity to the evaluation of measurement properties. This provides evidence that users may have confidence in the measurements made. Generally, this is evaluated by a sub-study pilot test, with a sample of the target population. Respondents are asked to complete the instrument to be evaluated and along with other comparisons, and the responses to the items are compared with the responses given to a repeat administration of the instrument. The following protocol describes the methodology by which aspects of validity, and reliability may be quantitatively evaluated. This adaptive study design is intended for populations or conditions for which the module could be used to measure (specific content is marked CONDITION SPECIFIC in the protocol).
The following study is for the The overall objective of the study is to develop a tool fit for purpose to assess satisfaction with the experience of care during urodynamic procedures. Ultimately the vision is a concise, fully validated tool that allows comparison across centers, in order to drive measureable improvements to care quality. The study is piloting the questionnaire in a clinical setting with patients who have undergone urodynamic pressure flow studies. This is to determine whether the psychometric properties of the ICIQ-Satisfaction questionnaire are adequate. The findings will allow the assessment whether the tool is valid and reliable for planned use in clinical practice.
