  • Research summary

The aim of PIPS is to explore the psychological impact that Primary Antibody Deficiency (PAD) and Secondary Antibody Deficiency (SAD) diagnoses have on patients under the care of the Immunodeficiency Centre for Wales. This will be investigated through asking participants to answer questionnaires on this topic, with more in-depth insights from a subset of this sample being gathered using semi-structured interviews. We will also explore the similarities and differences between the psychological impacts of PAD and SAD diagnoses due to a lack of literature on this topic. We hope that the findings from this study will help us to better understand how to improve the wellbeing support provided by the service in future.
