  • Data collection arrangements

This database will comprise granular data on donor data, intraoperative data, recipient demographics and outcomes. This database provides a level of granularity that is not available in any other registry currently collected.

Data will be input onto RedCap Safe Haven by individual centres. Centres will only be able to view the own data they have input into the database, but will not be able to view data input from other centres. Data will be securely held and anonymised.

  • Research programme

This database will inform the heart transplant community on DCD heart transplantation. It comes at a pivotal time as DCD heart transplantation continues to become more widely adopted across the globe. This database will inform academics and clinicians on clinically relevant questions. These include informing transplant teams on how to select donor hearts, what is a safe period/ unsafe period of ischaemia, which recipient factors predict successful outcomes etc etc.
