• Data collection arrangements

  Anonymised information regarding the following will be collected.
  Demographics (age, ethnicity, gender)

  • Past medical history of: diabetes, heart failure, blood vessel disease, previous strokes

  •Dialysis related data: type of dialysis, duration on dialysis, type of vascular access (method by which blood travels from patient to machine and back), date access created, access intervention dates and outcomes.

  • Blood results: haemoglobin, calcium, phosphate, parathyroid hormone level, glucose, HbA1c, albumin, creatinine, eGFR, albumin/creatinine ratio, CRP, ESR, LDL, HDL)

  •Blood vessel Ultrasound scan results: vessel size, arterial flow rate

  The data will be stored on a password protected excel spreadsheet on a secure Belfast Trust Server linked to the Trust IT backup systems.

  This database will support research into improving survival in individuals treated end stage kidney failure and those treated with haemodialysis.
