Research summary
Within a medium/low secure psychiatric hospital, multidisciplinary teams meetings are held weekly. The study aims to explore whether MDT's impact on the risk behaviours of forensic patients. Once quantitative data is gathered to investigate any statistical links between MDT meetings (day of and proximal phase), qualitative interviews will gather the patient views of MDT's. This aims to inform how services how MDT meetings impact on risk behaviours and as such may highlight support which can be provided to reduce risks of violence on the wards. These results will be generalisable to other male, medium, mental health forensic wards.
Those eligible to take part will be males residing in the 7 medium secure mental health wards at Roseberry Park Hospital.
InPhase (incident) data will be used to conduct the quantitative analysis. Two post-analysis focus groups of 4 patients (per group) will be conducted to assist in understanding the results of quantitative analysis.
