Research summary
This study will look at the efficiency of rehabilitation of individuals who have been detained by the mental health act (1983). This will be examined by conducting a questionnaire with the participants to look at different aspects of rehabilitation, considering the programmes and activities that they have been involved in whilst residing within the secure hospital. Looking at the different ways rehabilitation is managed in three different levels of security (low, medium and high secure) hospitals and identifing the most efficient ways of rehabilitation for the individuals. Due to the complex variety of patients within the secure hospitals, this research can help to identify the most effective ways of helping the patients with the rehabilitation processes. Differences such as the type of crime they have committed, gender and length of time spent within the secure unit can all play an important factor into how efficient the rehabilitation programmes are for the individual. With this research it can enable these to be identified.
