Research summary
This is a prospective observational multi-centre study.
The objective of the present study is to investigate the effect of total knee arthroplasty surgery on patients’ body mass index (BMI) and whether their is a correlation to their patient reported outcome measure (PROMs).Patients BMI will be measured and their PROMs will be obtained prior to the planned operation as part of the national joint registry application. Patients will be reviewed 12 / 24 months after the operation where their BMI and PROMs will be re-obtained.
we will assess the changes in the patients BMI (pre / post operatively) and their relation to the patient outcome measure.
