Research summary
Our research team, in a previous study, developed a questionnaire to be taken by patients to determine how satisfied they are with the orthodontic treatment that they have been receiving. In the current study we intend to investigate the validity, reliability and responsiveness of the questionnaire. In other words, we will investigate whether or not the questionnaire is an effective tool for determining patient satisfaction. We will do this by testing our questionnaire alongside other previously developed and validated questionnaires to look for similarities and differences in the questionnaire outcomes. We will test the questionnaires on patients before and after they have completed their orthodontic treatment. We will carry out this study in a hospital orthodontic department and in several local specialist orthodontic practices.
