Research summary
Our aim is to look at ways of increasing the number of people who take part in research from the community setting. To do this we are carrying out a project based in a general practice.
The project sets out to assess how suitable and practical it is to inform the patients of a general practice about opportunities to take part in research. To do this the patients will be making choices about who they would be willing to share personal information with. This research project will assess how the patients were contacted, what choices they made and what influenced their choices. We will also assess what impact collecting this information had on the practice.
To do this we will look at the results of a survey carried out by the general practice and interview some patients and general practice staff.
Should this method of increasing the number of patients who express an interest in taking part in research prove successful the long-term aim is to repeat the process in other general practices.REC name
