Research summary
This research intends to explore whether patients prefer face to face or virtual consultations for their rehabilitation appointments in an orthopaedic setting. We have developed a discrete choice experiment (using survey monkey) that presents patients with eight different scenario's. In each scenario we ask patients which option for consultation they would prefer.
We then ask patients questions about themselves: their demographics, the problems they experience, the rehabilitation they have received for these problems, how they travel to the clinic, their familiarity with technology, and whether they can access to equipment for virtual appointments.
We will then analyse the data to understand the strength of preference for or against face to face care and which patients are likely to prefer which outcome.
Patients will be asked to complete a questionnaire either before or after their rehabilitation appointment on the same day as being approached by the researcher.REC name
