Research summary
Current anti-HIV therapy (antiretroviral therapy) is very effective in controlling the HIV virus and so keeping patients well. But there is still much we don’t know about how taking the drugs affect some parts of the body such as the brain. It is important that we learn more about how much of the newer drugs get into this area and what effect this has.
The purpose of the study is to look at the differences in brain function between patients taking two different medications, which belong to the same new family of anti-HIV drugs called ‘integrase inhibitors’.REC name
