Research summary
We know that children and young people who receive chemotherapy can experience Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) such as nausea and vomiting. We are interested in finding out how often children undergoing chemotherapy experience chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting (CINV).
The CARE study aims to investigate the occurrence of CINV and related factors in two groups of cancer patients, one in the UK and one in Brazil. We will use ADR assessment tools developed in Liverpool to investigate how likely the CINV is due to the medicine (Liverpool ADR Causality Assessment tool) and see if we can prevent this from happening in the future (Liverpool ADR Avoidability Assessment tool). We hope this study will help us to develop guidelines to manage CINV for children in Brazil.REC name
