Research summary
Advances in medical technology have resulted in an increase in the detection of unexpected blood clots in the lungs of patients with cancer. We will be performing laboratory tests on stored patient tumour samples to see whether certain markers expressed on these tumours might predict their risk of developing these clots. It is hoped that we may find a pattern or level of expression that identifies high-risk patients so they may be treated appropriately before these clots have chance to develop.
