Research summary
Surgery for prostate cancer can now be performed with the assistance of a robot, using a keyhole approach. Our study is designed to find out what the best means of providing pain relief is after such operations. It will compare the more traditional technique of injecting local anaesthetic into the keyhole sites, with a technique involving placing local anaesthetic on both sides of the abdomen, at a point just above where the nerves enter the abdomen.
