Research summary
The Tameside Oldham and Glossop Mind (TOGMind) Hub offers the opportunity for professionals to work in an integrated partnership within a shared site. Children and young people (CYP) and families who may be ‘harder to reach’ and unlikely to engage in statutory support have been proactively involved in the Hub with increased engagement as a result. Through this service evaluation study, we will capture and evaluate the impact of an integrated hub for people living within a highly deprived area of England.
TOG Mind have already:
• Moved to a new location near the town centre transport network
• Developed a shared space with other providers
• Reduced assessment waiting times from 4 weeks to 2 weeks
• Offered 1:1 meeting rooms, a bigger group activity room, a specific family support space and an open and relaxed waiting space
• Doubled staffing capacity, including over evenings and weekends
• Increased volunteering opportunities and community engagement
• Provided new activities for family members
• Introduced an additional routine outcome measure to monitor overall progress and developmentDuring this in-depth service evaluation study, we will ensure a thorough and careful evaluation of the Hub’s outcomes, which could further enhance service development and supply invaluable information for other teams around the UK. We will also explore the lived experiences of young people, parents and staff to capture the nuances and perspectives of engaging with the service.
